Currents

Hailing from Newtown, Connecticut, Currents have established themselves as a major force in modern metalcore with their blend of crushing breakdowns, melodic choruses and emotionally charged lyrics. Since joining the band in 2015, vocalist Brian Wille has shaped their sound alongside guitarist Chris Wiseman. While Wille had previously focused primarily on screaming, his work with Currents saw him expand his vocal range to include melodic singing and the writing of powerful choruses. Combined with Wiseman’s distinctive guitar arrangements, this helped create the band’s signature sound. With albums such as “The Place I Feel Safest”, “The Way It Ends” and “The Death We Seek”, Currents have continued to evolve their musical style. On their 2025 EP “All That Follows”, the band placed an even greater emphasis on creative freedom, musical experimentation and close collaboration within the group.
